Evaluation of vibrations transmitted to the structure of residential buildings located in the vicinity of road reconstruction works during construction of a sewer network.
The challenge
Measurement and evaluation of harmful dynamic effects during pavement restoration works. Construction works were conducted using a grader and vibratory roller.
The solution
A PROFOUND triaxial VIBRA type geophone was used to measure the vibrations. During the measurements, the values of the speed of wave propagation were observed in 15 s intervals. The inspection included a comparison of the recorded vibration level with the permissible values specified in DIN 4150-3 and professional assistance in optimizing the operation of vibration-inducing equipment in such a way as to minimize the impact of vibrations on adjacent buildings.
